A world where social networking releases us from our phones!
Social networks provide many connections such as friend groups, professional contacts, and make keeping in touch with family easier. At the same time they often separate us from the world occurring within ten feet of us. Today as I rode my bike into downtown Portland I watched a bicyclist pulling tricks. Nearby potential gawkers kept their eyes on their phones missing the acrobatic display. I was just as bad – thinking only to take a picture for this blog.
Watch the video below and re-imagine this world if our social networks were discreet and actually encouraged us to interact with our environment…
…when I talk to teachers and administrators about augmented reality this is what I dream of:
